Business Law

Commercial law or business law is the body of law which governs business and commerce and is often considered to be a branch of civil law and deals both with issues of private law and public law. Commercial law regulates corporate contracts, hiring practices, and the manufacture and sales of consumer goods.

PROBATE AND FAMILY LAW

Probate and Family law deals with most of the issues and cases that involve families and children.  These include divorce and separation, duties of spouses to support each other, how they divide their property if they divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, paternity of children whose parents are not married to each other, domestic violence, and many other issues and cases.

ESTATE PLANNING

Estate planning is the process by which an individual or family arranges the transfer of assets in anticipation of death. An estate plan aims to preserve the maximum amount of wealth possible for the intended beneficiaries and flexibility for the individual prior to death. A major concern for drafters of estate plans is federal and state tax law. An estate is the total property, real and personal, owned by an individual prior to distribution through a trust or will. Estate planning distributes the real and personal property to an individual's heirs. Wills and trusts are common ways in which individuals dispose of their wealth. 

REAL ESTATE

This simple concept includes a wide range of different legal disciplines. First, real estate may be either residential or commercial. It can be owned by one person but used by another through rental arrangements. Land can be bought or sold, and due to its high value, there are many local laws that ensure real estate transactions are properly performed and recorded. Land may also pass between family members through estate planning, or may be owned by more than one person. Finally, state and local governments have rules concerning the purposes for which land may be used -- for example, each plot of land must be used according to local zoning laws, and landowners may not damage the surrounding environment.

PERSONAL INJURY

Personal injury is an area of law in which legal services are provided to those who claim to have been injured, physically or psychologically, as a result of the negligence of another person, company, government agency or any entity. Examples of common personal injury claims include injuries from slip and fall accidents, traffic collisions, defective products, workplace injuries and professional malpractice.
